Thank you for your interest in Backwater Books carrying your book! Please read the following information carefully before formally submitting your request.
- All requests must be made in writing. At this time, we will not accommodate walk-in or phone call requests and will not accept any books brought into the store. All book buying decisions are made behind the scenes by the administration.
- We do not carry titles on a consignment basis. We must be able to order from Ingram or a traditional publisher at the traditional discount. Books must be returnable.
- Books should be professionally written and edited. Books must have spine. We do not carry spiral-bound books or stapled pamphlets.
- Please allow two weeks before sending a follow-up request. We receive several requests every day and do not have the time to respond to all requests immediately.

If your book is only available for consignment, you are still eligible to join our Local Author Night events. These events are first come, first served sign ups and occur monthly. Authors bring their own stock to the event and take any remaining stock at the end of the evening. All transactions will come through Backwater Books registers. At the end of the event, authors will be paid for 60% of the sales of their books. Authors are provided with a table, pens, a nameplate, and water. Authors may bring their own displays and signs.
