Author Talk: Mark Hendricks presents The Central Appalachians

Join author Mark Hendricks as he takes you into the heart of the Central Appalachian mountains, the subject of his newest book The Central Appalachians: Mountains of the Chesapeake, with stunning imagery and captivating stories.

 

Mark Hendricks is an award winning photographer, writer, and author working on environmental issues. A former marine mammal trainer, aquarist, and animal rescuer, he turned to using his camera as a storytelling tool for conservation awareness. His first book, Natural Wonders of Assateague Island (Schiffer Publishing), was a 2018 Foreword Reviews award winner. His images and articles have been featured in National Geographic, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Living Bird, Audubon, and many others. Mark is a faculty member at Towson University where he serves as a lecturer in the Department of Psychology, an adjunct in the Department of Biological Sciences, and is co-director of the Animal Behavior Program. He is a fellow in the International League of Conservation Writers and member of the ethics committee for the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA).
